Mike's Story (condensed version)

You have found the musical home of Mike Beauchamp.

I've been writing songs and playing guitar for over 25 years off and on, between singing in various choirs and working for a living as a Data Guy

Here you will find a mix of storytelling, personal observation, and spiritual songs. Cruise around and see if something intrigues you. I would love to share my music with you.

I lived in Oakville, Ontario for 25 years but Ruth and I relocated to Ottawa in 2015. I will miss singing and collaborating with a lot of people as a result of this but am finding new musical adventures here in our nation's capital region.

Over the years I have been a member of a number of fine choral groups. If you get a chance, please support and find time to enjoy their work.

Masterworks of Oakville
Georgetown Bach Chorale
Oakville Choral Society
Canadian Centennial Choir
Ottawa Choral Society

In the summer of 2017 and 2018, I made the decision to reconnect with the SummerSongs community and attended their songwriting camp after a 15 year hiatus.

You will also find some evidence here of the time I have spent contributing to music for worship as a choir member, band leader, and singer/songwriter at the congregations I have chosen to worship at.

Maple Grove United Church
Glen Abbey United Church
Trinity United Church
First United Church

This has also led to what I suspect will become an ongoing collaboration with lyricist and poet Andrew King. Andy's unique ministry is to reflect on the published lectionary of the United Church of Canada and produce both poetic and lyrical interpretations of the suggested readings. This is becoming an appreciated and valuable resource for a number of worship planners who have discovered it.

I hope you enjoy my music and will continue to follow my journey.

Mike
